I believe we all come to a point in our lives where we begin looking for a deeper connection to ourselves and the world around us; to become more grounded and inspired, to move beyond our ideas of “self”. Whatever our background, the opportunity to become more fully who we are, outside of the world that propels us, is available.
I discovered Ashtanga yoga at a time when I deeply needed to draw from my own strength. Luckily inspired and intrigued by the benefits of the Ashtanga practice I became gradually more dedicated and passionate about what I was uncovering. There is physical strength to be discovered, surely, in the flow and pace of these asanas; digging deeper, it is the foundation and connection to self that has propelled me forward to teach and share what I have learned. It is a dynamite experience to help people connect with themselves and instill a sense of peace into what is often a busy, demanding life. Not only to insist ( or guide you to…) find your limitations, but to know you can, with practice, move past them.
I have been blessed to learn from Danielle Peche, Kevin Elander, Roger Montgomery, Heather Thompson, Rob Nicholls, Marc Darby, Fiona Stang, David Williams, and Jeff and Harmony Lichty. I currently work with senior teacher (of yoga and meditation) Hart Lazer. Along with the above, my students ALWAYS teach and inspire me forward (and make me smile!).
Meow, and shanti
