Yoga for Tweens (Registered) |

This class is a supportive, fun-loving and active yoga practice for busy pre-teens. Designed for ages of 10 - 12 years, the class will encourage a healthy body image, while learning techniques for reducing stress, invoking the creative spirit and develop a positive attitude towards their physical bodies and their peers. |

Teen Yoga (Registered) |

Begin to find your own OM as a teen. This empowering yoga class begins to encourage teens to become more self - aware and confident in their bodies, mind and breath. Students will develop a sense of well-being and a chill attitude, while gaining strength and flexibility in their ever changing bodies. Ages 13 - 16 years. |

Surya Namaskar means Sun Salutation. Join us for an invigorating early morning practice to greet the morning sun and the beginning of a new day.This ALL LEVELS class consists of a flowing practice designed to build strength, balance and flexibility. For students of All Levels. Prior experience is recommended: we offer a "Beginner's Immersion" registered program or a "Yoga 101" workshop (once a month). Prior experience at another studio is suggested if you have not taken either of the above registered class or workshop. |

Upside Down & Backwards |

The name is in the title! This class will get you moving upside down and backwards and is for students looking to deepen their practice and explore more challenging balancing and back bending sequences. Expect to be challenged on many different levels. These classes are recommended for experienced students only. |

This class offers a challenging flowing asana practice that is balanced with a calming restorative practice. The perfect start to a new week!
This class will be taught as an all levels class where beginners will safely learn the basics, while more experienced students can take the postures to new and deeper levels. |

This class is based on postures from the Primary and Intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga. These asana are creatively sequenced to enable experienced practitioners to fully explore the benefits of this traditional practice. A minimum of 15 previous classes is recommended. |

Karma Class |

This is a class that allows us at Yoga Mandala to give back to the community. The Karma class is an all levels class catering to anyone wanting to come and practice yoga. A reduced drop-in price of a minimum donation of $5 (please bring cash) per class will apply to all students attending, and will be donated to charity.
Currently we are working in partnership to benefit the "Calgary Health Trust". All proceeds collected at the Karma class will go directly to "Calgary Health Trust" in support of Women's Health Centre at the Foothills Medical Centre. |

If you have been curious about yoga, but didn't want to walk into a class without any experience, this is the class for you. This 7 week registered class teaches the basics of yoga asana in a welcoming and non-intimidating environment. We will focus on poses, alignment, breathing and the art of honouring your body. By the end of the session, you will begin to feel right at home on your mat. |

Bring your tot to yoga! Let your tot(s) interact with other tots while you stretch and strengthen muscles. This is a great way to meet other Moms and/or Dads and gives you an opportunity to take a yoga class without having to arrange a babysitter. Children should be crawling up to 3yrs. This 7wk postnatal program is perfect for any mum, dad or parental guardian wanting to learn yoga postures to gain muscle tone and strength, ease strain from caring for your baby and carrying all the gear that comes with them! This class allows you to come to yoga and spend time with baby in a fun, relaxed and supportive environment. (Oh! And you will learn fun songs too!)

In this imaginative class, we combine basic yoga poses with fun songs and creative stories to practice social, sensory and motor skills while increasing strength and flexibility. In this class we move through a systematic practice of relaxing the body and inducing a deep state of subtle awareness. Yoga Nidra is a powerful meditation technique that is appropriate for absolutely everybody. |

*Mindfulness Meditation (registered) |

This registered class is for individuals who are interested in the practice of mindfulness and meditation. The class would be suitable for anyone and no prior meditation experience is necessary.
Mindfulness is a capacity of “living in the moment” that anyone can cultivate. It is developed by paying attention, on purpose, from moment to moment through meditation. You can discover calmness of mind, increased personal energy, a sense of well-being, and deeper insight into your life. A calm and peaceful way to end your weekend and set the tone for the new week.
In this class, you will learn sitting, walking and lying down meditations. The meditations are guided by the instructor and they are of varying lengths to help bring variety to the practice. During the sitting practice, participants may either sit on the floor or in a chair depending upon their preference and comfort level. You will be provided with suggestions on how to apply mindfulness in your daily life. |

This 2 hour, registered workshop is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to review the basics. Topics include basic asana and alignment, breathing and meditation techniques, history, and anatomy. After taking this course, students will be ready for all level classes.
